A woman got sexually assaulted and posted about it on reddit. Rather than helping or consoling the poor woman, the reddit community blamed the victim, telling her "someone like you deserves to be raped to death", "you got served!", and "what a c*nt".
She deleted her reddit account due to death threats.
It is hard to imagine any group of human beings behaving that way, but what else would you expect from a community that devotes entire forums to the beating and raping of women?
Look, this has gone too far. It is time for the owners of reddit, Conde Nast and Advance Publications, to be decent human beings and shut the site down.

How classy. Long story short, this is how people act when they know they can get away with it.

You bet they do.
Think about it. We only see the posts that don't get banned. Can you imagine what the rest of the comments are like?
Get an idea for it by looking at -4 posts. Away from moderators' eyes at the bottom of the page, they escape the banhammer.
With little effort, you can find what I believe are the worst people on the entire Internet at the bottom of the reddit comments page.

We also only see FORUMS that don't get banned. Reddit got plenty of complaints asking them to shut down forums like http://www.reddit.com/r/BeatingWomen and http://www.reddit.com/r/SexyAbortions, but they made a conscious decision to keep them. That is so very wrong that there aren't even words.
I am all for free speech but there are limits. Reddit should not be allowed to host forums that encourage rape and violence towards women.
If yelling "fire" in a crowded theater is not permitted then why is it permitted for reddit to glorify beating and raping women?
I just looked at http://www.reddit.com/r/BeatingWomen and it is very disturbing. Scroll all the way down to the bottom. Why would reddit allow those images?
I hate Reddit because you can't ask for any help or advice anymore. Users look down on anything that can be taken remotely intellectual, and continue to spend their time spreading hate across the internet. If your goals in life are different from the Reddit hive mind, you will be labeled a "spoiled brat".

Community usually refers to a social unit larger than a household that shares common values and has social cohesion.the community (and yes it is a community) of reddit is an amazing place full of kindness, altruism, humor, sadness, hostility, and perversion. all of these things are worth talking about, even beating women. im not an internet scientist, but i know for a fact that the subreddits you claim to be the heart and soul of reddit arent even in the top 100 most subscribed. instead are things like askscience, funny, todayilearned, programming, worldnews, and aww(basically just cute pictures of furry animals). this doesnt really sound like a community hell bent on hosting women beating festivals and dog raping orgies, now does it? thats like saying your whole family is a bunch of jew burning pedophiles because you had a great uncle who was a nazi kiddy diddler. seriously. free speech is a wonderful right to be exercised, and no, reddit doesnt condone or glorify beating women,but i think its important to have a website thats not afraid to defend peoples right to talk about it. the beating women subreddit has about one tenth of one percent of the subscribers that the top subreddits do, meaning its pretty damn unfair to use them as the standard measure of a redditor. look at thinks like randomactsofpizzza or the assistance sections of reddit and you will find people helping one another out with everything from food to rent money to rides home for the holidays. nearly a million dollars in charitable donations made by redditors. shopping sprees for sick kids. advice on troubled marriages. yep, sounds like a bunch of rape-hungry pedos to me. not to mention the fact that most of these 'terrible subreddits' are really just a shock and awe attempt at humor by people whos sense of humor might be just a bit stranger than yours. i think you get the point here people. i dont think all bloggers are whine case uptight little bitches like LouF here, so you shouldtnt thing all redditors are rapists because of a few bad apples or bad jokes. also your stats are made up. those are not popular searches for reddit, these are
